At a Glance: What's Different?

  • The target is now £300,000, not £750,000
  • The issuing body is now the Bath City Supporters Society, which means that all community shareholders will become members of the Supporters Society.
  • Six of the Club’s nine directors will become democratically accountable to community shareholders, through the Supporters Society
  • No Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS) tax breaks are available, because we are not taking control of over 90% of the club.

Your questions

Q. I paid by cheque last year. Will I receive interest on my payment?

Q. Will I receive shares in Bath City FC Ltd if I invest?

Q. Will I now get more votes if I buy more shares?

A. If you opt out or if the Bid fails, then yes, although it will be a very small amount - less than 1%. If you opt in and the Bid succeeds, the interest will be used towards the target - specifically, covering the transaction fees of Microgenius and Crowdfunder (i.e. it won't be added to your personal investment)

A. No - you will receive community shares from the Bath City Supporters Society. The Society will use the proceeds of the Bid to collectively buy ordinary shares in the club itself.

A. No, the Society will continue to operate on a "one member, one vote" basis. This is a feature of the co-operative/community benefit society model that encourages broader participation.
